Teeth in a Day
Dallas, TX

Middle Age Woman from Dallas, TX, laughing after getting teeth in a day from Dallas ProsthodonticsToday, you have more options than ever before when it comes to replacing missing teeth. For patients who are missing either an entire arch of teeth or who are suffering from complete edentulism, options include full dentures and complete fixed bridges using dental implants. Dental implants have quickly become the treatment of choice, among both dental professionals and patients alike. With some dental implant solutions, however, it can take a while before you get fully-functional teeth. At Dallas Prosthodontics, we can give you an entire arch, or the entire mouth, of replacement teeth in one appointment with Teeth in a Day.

The Basis for Teeth in a Day

Teeth in a Day typically uses 4 dental implant posts as a foundation for your replacement teeth. For this reason, the treatment is also often called All-on-4. Depending upon your specific situation, though, you may need up to 6 posts placed into your jaw to provide your replacement teeth with the support they need to provide you with a long-lasting solution. The exact number of posts you will need will be determined during your initial consultation.

Planning and Preparation

The process for Teeth in a Day starts with diagnostic imaging. This is done using 3D CT scanning technology. With this technology, we can generate a 3-dimensional image of your mouth, including the jaw, joints, sinus cavities, nerves, muscles, and blood vessels. We will be able to see where your bone is the strongest, which enables us to determine how many implant posts you will need and where they should be placed for optimal support. The scan can also show if you will need a bone graft before implant placement.

Once we have determined optimal implant placement, we then create a surgical guide, which will be used during your implant surgery. The surgical guide acts as a template that helps to reduce the risk of potential errors while your implants are being placed, helping to provide you with the best, most precise, results.

Implant Surgery and Teeth Placement

After your procedure is planned, it is time for your surgery. This includes performing any necessary extractions, shaping of the bone, and placing your dental implants. Once your implants have been placed, your fixed bridge is then secured into place. This is done with the use of small screws. You leave the office with fully functional teeth that you can use normally right from the start. They feel perfectly natural and give you close to completely natural chewing power. Not to mention that you will be able to smile with confidence.

What Can I Expect After Surgery?

While you are given fully functional teeth immediately after implant placement, you will still have some pain after surgery. After all, you just underwent a surgical procedure! Eating soft, easy to chew foods is recommended for a while. As you begin to feel better, you can then reincorporate many of your favorite foods. You will need to follow up visits to ensure that your bone is fusing properly to your implant posts. This process should take between 3 and 4 months. Once you have fully healed, we will then fabricate a final set of replacement teeth which will take the place of the ones you have been wearing. Even after your final fixed bridge is placed, it is essential that you maintain good oral hygiene to maintain your oral health and ensure that your dental implants last.
